Dark clouds gather in the sky,
This lifeless plain barren and dry,
Lightning strikes the first drops fall,
The soil is breathing... Nature has heard its call.
Sunlight shining through the rain.
A rainbow appears and all will remain
Quiet and waiting for small things to grow,
Dry season's over, and that is all they know.
With tears in their eyes for the ones Who are gone
But celebrating life 'cause they have to move on...
Taking care of themselves and their young ones to be,
They have to be careful, and yet they�re the ones who are free.
While eating the green hearing every sound,
One lift its head feeling the ground.
Tremble and shaking, danger is near.
Running for cover, hide from the things that they fear...
Lions and poachers are roaming about.
They�re also hungry, there is no doubt.
One is down. They watch and they learn.
Sacrifice has been made, so they can return.
Time to go where the rivers run wild
For a mother to rest and having her child.
This river is life and death all in one.
They have to cross over for some to become
The next generation who will proudly be
Where the waters are flowing and the land always green.
The new ones who are playing knowing nothing of life.
They have to be strong, if they want to survive.
The path that they take each year is the same,
Losing the weak and no one's to blame.
