My heart recalls the place That had once been my sacred space, And in my dreams, On soaring wings I still go there.
Where peace was found To calm my trouble And rescue me from This life of struggle.
A place so fair, When I long for home My heart goes there.
When my eyes opened and the angels disappeared, I saw my mother's face and knew her from somewhere. Her voice reminded me of comfort I once knew, As from a memory I could not bring to view.
And from this special time of softness and sunlight, The years began to clear a world so big and bright That looked so wonderful but sometimes seemed so cruel, where innocense had faded and wisdom made the rules.
And still, I felt the bond From the haven that was beyond What I could see, Or I could feel But still was real.
And deep inside, I could return there And feel such great love Relieve my despair.
And as I roam, Though strange the journey, I will come home.
I never let go of what my heart yearned for, A refuge where I knew my soul had been before. One day, I found someone who felt he had known me From some place long ago, where he too wished to be.
And never will we part nor desire to be free But offer all our love to last eternally. For life is but a moment and fleeting as we go, And when this brief stay passes, we will venture home.
And on that glorious day When the mist has gone from the way Of that sweet land My mind forgot But my heart knew,
We'll find our dwelling In this solace Surrounded by those Who waited for us.
A home so fair, When we are done here, We will go there.
We'll find our dwelling In this solace Surrounded by those Who waited for us.
A home so fair, When we are done here, We will go there.
